EXAMPLES OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF HARDWOOD COMBINATIONS USED IN OUR PREFAB HOMES

We offer a number of options to chose from with respect to the materials to be used for the unit depending on your needs, local circumstances, environmental conditions and/or governmental building regulations.

We stronlgy advise you to first verify which actual condition at your end prevails, whereas the foliowing table may help you decide the category applicable for your situation.

Once you have determined your catagory define the termite class at your end from the class table below         
 

HELPFUL HINT: In order to guarantee 100% termite resistance of a wooden unit only the part below ground floor (pedestals, main and sub joists) + the ground floor itself shall be made from Bangkirai heartwood or Merbau heartwood  (heartwood is the core of the tree). Alternatively the cheaper termite barriers can be used.  

The following termite resistance classes are introduced:

Class 1: Fully termite resistant by use of Bangkirai or Merbau heartwood for the parts mentioned under helpful  hint
Class 2: Partly termite resistant by use of partly Bangkirai or Merbau and add a termite barrier 
Class 3: Semi termite resistant by use of termite barriers only (need regular inspection)
Class 4: Not termite resistant


Below we present a number of combinations in different wood classes for different classes and different categories. Example: You have determined that you are in category E and wish to have a class 2 termite protection. Your best choice would be combination 6 (see below). 

The number of red indicators denotes the price leve (Full-indicator = cheapest)
